Chariotts received £1000 funding from Tesco Bags of Help
Chariotts received £1000 funding from Tesco through the Tesco Bags of Help grant, which was available to community groups and charities across North Wales.
They successfully applied for funding to part cover the cost of an accessible vehicle for their community transport service.
Chariotts provides a volunteer led, wheelchair accessible transport service for all disabled people who live within Wrexham County. The service is available to anyone who would have difficulty using normal public transport, no matter what their disability, their age or the purpose of their journey.
Chariotts have a team of thirty volunteer drivers, a fleet of nine vehicles which are all able to carry someone in a wheelchair and up to three other passengers as well as the driver. To find out more about Chariotts you can contact them on 01978 312888.
Tesco have relaunched their charity / community organisation grant scheme now called 'Tesco Community Grants'. Tesco Community Grants will fund local good causes whose focus is on supporting Children and Families and food insecurity projects this year's theme is a 'Stronger Start'.
Charity's and not for profit community organisations are encouraged to apply for the grant. Tesco customers and colleagues can also nominate a cause that they would like to see supported and they will be contacted by a member of the Tesco Community Grants team and encouraged to apply.
