Groundwork North Wales in partnership with the Princes’ Trust are set to start delivering the Team Cymru Programme in the Wrexham area from next week.

A 12-week programme for young people aged 16-25, that offers the chance to develop new skills, gain qualifications, build their confidence, and meet new people.

Team Cymru’s aim is to assist young people to make positive progression with their lives after the initial 12-week programme. Three in four people who complete a course with the Prince’s Trust go on to work, education or training.

Charlotte Beesty Youth Practitioner on the project is looking forward to working with this group of young people.

“We are looking forward to working with this new group of young people who have put themselves forward for the Team Cymru programme. We are excited to see the individuals grow and develop as they work through the programme”.

Throughout the programme participants will shape the programme by collectively selecting what community projects and challenges to get involved with.  The young people will access a two-week work placement in an area that they are interested in pursuing and take part in various classroom sessions and activities to allow them to improve their skills and confidence. Participants will also gain a Level 1 Certificate or Award in Personal Development and Employability Skills.

Aaron Jones Senior Youth Lead is grateful for the opportunity to deliver this programme in the Wrexham area and keen to get started.
