Groundwork North Wales are inviting people from across Flintshire to join their end of project celebration. The celebrations will be held on Saturday the 30th of September at Wepre Park between 11am and 3pm.
There will be stalls from local organisations and community groups, a local history exhibit, family activities, bushcraft activities, guided walks, litter picks and more.
All activities are free and will be taking place at the rear of the visitor centre. The full event programme can be found at www.facebook.com/OurBackYardCQ.
The Our Back Yard project has been running in Connah’s Quay since 2017 and has empowered the local community to improve their natural environment for current and future generations. Some key achievements of the project include:
- Hosting the annual Quay Clean event, which removed litter from our streets, nature reserves and parks.
- Improved paths, access and biodiversity over 5 different green spaces.
- Delivered over 350 natured based activity sessions across 7 schools and colleges.
- Provided training and qualifications for local people.
- Over 10,500 volunteer hours dedicated to the project.
- Hosted events and engagement activities, including Quay Nature Club and Family Bushcraft.
If you would like to get involved on the day or host a stall, please contact luisa.citra@groundworknorthwales.org.uk or phone 01978 757524.
