Groundwork North Wales is looking to recruit volunteers to help make 2023 another great year for the Our Back Yard Project.
Our Back Yard helps to improve and enhance green spaces around Connah’s Quay in Flintshire.
Volunteering is a great way to give back, meet new people, experience the outdoors and gain valuable skills. It’s an opportunity for people looking to build up their experiences for their CV or wanting to try something new.
Last year volunteers gave over 1,500 hours to the Our Back Yard project. 15 green spaces in the Connah’s Quay area were improved and over 100 bags of litter were collected from green spaces around the town.
People of all ages, abilities and backgrounds are encouraged to get involved and no experience necessary.
Volunteers can join the Our Back Yard team in several different ways. There are weekly practical conservation sessions held in Connah’s Quay, volunteers can help at events that take place particularly at holiday time, volunteers could share their skills with groups in activity sessions such as photography , art or gardening. Throughout the year there is formal training available and social days out.
If you would like to get involved or would like to have a chat about volunteering, please contact the team by asking for Luisa, luisa.citra@groundworknorthwales.org.uk or at 01978757524.
