Refurbs Flint is excited to announce the return of the Make Food Go Further project in the new year, with fresh dates and inspiring workshops aimed at helping the community get the most out of their food.
This project showcases how to create tasty and hearty meals using ingredients that might be hiding at the back of your cupboard. The sessions are designed to equip participants with practical tips to reduce food waste while saving money, all in a fun and engaging environment.
Scheduled Sessions
8th Jan – 12pm – 1pm
5th Feb – 12pm – 1pm
5th Mar – 12pm – 1pm
“We’re excited to bring these sessions back for another year,” said Katy, Café Manager at Alyn Waters, who will be leading the demonstrations. “Food waste continues to be an issue that impacts us all, and these sessions are a great way for the community to learn simple, practical steps to make their food go further while enjoying tasty meals.”
Key Topics will Include:
- Creative ways to cook with surplus food
- Surprising foods that can be frozen
- Turning surplus fruit or vegetables into preserves
- Delicious recipes for using leftovers
- Understanding “best before” vs. “use-by” dates
As an added bonus, every participant will receive a goody bag filled with ingredients to recreate the food demonstrated during the session – making it even easier to put the tips into practice at home.
All sessions are free and open to the public. Spaces are limited, so we encourage those wanting to attend to register your interest by emailing events@refurbs.org.uk
