Recycle Week is an annual event that celebrates and promotes the benefits of recycling. It creates opportunities for everyone to implement positive change that will help protect our planet.

Now in its 20th year, Recycle Week (16th-22nd October) will be celebrated under the theme of ‘The Big Recycling Hunt’ which will shine a light on items that can be recycled but are commonly missed in the home.

Over the years, the celebration has become a way for organisations and individuals to get involved in recycling efforts. Recycle Week also sheds light on new challenges happening within the environment, like the climate change crisis currently affecting the globe.

One of Refurbs primary objectives is to make people aware of the benefits of reusing and recycling to reduce pollution, to protect the environment and to promote sustainable waste management practice.

We’re continuing to play our part by refurbishing preloved household furniture, keeping it out of landfill. We take any opportunity to shout about the benefits of recycling, not just on our wallets but on our planet.

Refurbs offer affordable, quality, secondhand household appliances and furniture. Choosing to buy preloved items allows you to furnish your home for less, joining the recycling movement, reducing the amount sent to landfill and reducing the carbon footprint associated with buying new items.

Donating to or buying from local charities such as Refurbs not only enables us to provide support and services to communities across North Wales, but it also prevents hundreds of tonnes of waste going to landfill. Reusing and recycling these items rather than sending them to landfill helps reduce global warming and in turn tackle climate change.
