DESCRIPTION | Emergency First Aid at Work

According to the HSE and the Labour Force Survey 0.7million workers sustained a non-fatal injury in 2019-2020.

The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require all employers to make arrangements to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. This includes carrying out a risk assessment, appointing a suitable amount of first aiders and providing appropriate first aid training.

This qualification is designed for individuals who wish to act as an emergency first aider in their workplace. Upon successful completion of this qualification, candidates will be equipped with the essential skills needed to give safe, prompt and effective first aid in emergency situations.

DURATION: 6 hours

CERTIFICATION

The instructor is responsible for the assessment of the delegates on the day and a three-year Ofqual regulated qualification will be issued to those who satisfy the criteria.

DESCRIPTION | Forestry +F course

This short, yet informative course provides learners with the knowledge and practical competencies needed for the treatment of injuries and diseases that could occur whilst working in a forestry/agricultural specific environment. Topics covered are,  extreme hot and cold temperatures, managing catastrophic bleeding, crush injuries and Lyme disease.

This qualification is intended to be delivered in conjunction with a regulated first aid qualification (minimum of 1 day) and will confirm the Learner's abilities to meet a 'licence to practice' as determined by the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the recommendations in the First Aid at Work - Forestry Commission Policy. 

DURATION

This qualification comprises 1 mandatory unit over 2 hours of learning.  Learners must hold or be working towards either a regulated first aid qualification (minimum 1-day course prior to certification).

CERTIFICATION

Assessment is conducted through practical assessments, informal ongoing assessment and a multiple choice question paper.  

The qualification is valid for 3 years' upon completion.

NUMBERS
