Help out on your local nature reserves – Volunteers Needed

The Our Back Yard project in partnership with oursleves and Flintshire County Councils Ranger team is running a weekly volunteer session on an important nature reserves in Connah’s Quay. The sessions will focus on sites including Broadoak and Gathering Ground Woods and Llwyni Meadow and Valley. The volunteer sessions will run every Tuesday 10 am – 2 pm and will involve a range of interesting and important conservation tasks. All the sites are protected and form an important habitat for a range of species.

Project Manager Richard Aram encouraged local residents to help out “The volunteer sessions offer a great way to get outdoors and active, whilst helping to manage these important sites. All the volunteer sessions are led by qualified staff and involve a range of tasks that can be adapted to suit everyone. The sites are a valuable and unique habitat and very well used by local residents and we hope to get volunteers involved in their management.”
